Guy's leather gloves 

They are real part of Guy's personality, they hiding. protecting, not showing what is under. He is like onion. Onions have layers.

Of course there are few moments in Season 1 where Guy doesn't have his gloves: wedding, engagement party (+ fight with Robin, so in all episode 8 - he is without), when Much becomes a Lord (and Sheriff is painting his nails - yuck!), when he is like Jack Nicholson in Shining and when Guy shows horse for Marian + without one on tournament, talking about apple :) but in these moments we can see The Real Guy.
