Look at "Mother's remedy"
This one is called "jala neti" and is really helpful with sinuses' problems.
Mostly this kind of problems have people with too much mucus like type A or AB when type A is leading. Sinuses are producting mucus to protect organism and defeat infection. But isn't good to have this too much, because infection stays longer in organism and can affect other parts, e.g. You have only small catarrh, but bacteria and viruses can affect your throat and lungs.

I've never done this before, because I don't have to. But if You wish to do this, and You don't have some special utensil, You can use plain small plastic bottle with drinking bill.
