My Time Capsule - History behind stamps

Yesterday I found collection of stamps, 3 stamp albums. There are only few of them. Clickie to enlarge.

PhotobucketThis one is from country which doesn't exists since 1954 Indochine (more HERE). This region was made on territory of Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam. Wiki page with stamps from Indochina HERE. It says that this kind of stamps is from something around 1907.

Another country which not exists: Republic of Upper Volta. This was name of Burkina Faso. Name was changed in 1984. More about Burkina Faso HERE.



PhotobucketAntigua - interesting island with Mount Obama. "On August 4, 2009, the birthday of U.S. President Barack Obama, Antigua and Barbuda Prime Minister Baldwin Spencer officially renamed the mountain from Boggy Peak to Mount Obama". More on Wikipedia HERE with list of famous residents.



PhotobucketHelvetia - is the female national personification of Switzerland. Interesting stamp. I consider that most of You saw these photos with Richard with sunglasses and backpack on airport. So on his backpack is mark from Switzerland. Photos on Ebay HERE. (e.g. backpack HERE). And He is astro-Leo ;D.

PhotobucketClara Maass was an American nurse who died as a result of volunteering for medical experiments to study yellow fever. More HERE. Stamp is from 1976, year of 100th anniversary of Clara's birth.
