Hermenegilde komm - April 13th

In this post HERE about premiere of Captain America in My Country I said

And some interesting flash with my favourite series from Poland. Captain America saw some Hydra base near Baltic Sea. This is really interesting, because in my fav series from childhood and this is epic series (my bro watched it in his childhood too) "Four tank-men and a dog" in one episode "Fort Olgierd" there is some kind of very secret base near Baltic Sea where was some kind of new weapon. And German solders had some kind of mission to get this weapon back. And there was action not only from sky, but from sea too! So this weapon probably was Hydra's!!!

Before this action was some information "Hermenegilde komm",

One of the Tank-men's named Gustaw Jeleń said, that he had aunt named Hermenegilde and she had name day April 13th.

So today is anniversary of Hydra's action :)

Chocolate Day

Edit: I started to write this post yesterday, but was too tired to end it :) and I was sleeping on a table for 3 hours. ;D

‘Doctor Who’ to star in Spies of Warsaw drama

David Tennant, once the star of the BBC mega-hit series ‘Doctor Who’, has been cast as the lead in a Polish-British-French spy drama.

The two-part television drama, Spies of Warsaw, is based on the novel of the same name by best-selling American author Alan Furst, and is being co-produced by BBC Worldwide, Polish public broadcaster TVP and ARTE France.

The drama begins in pre-WW II Warsaw, with the threat of war looming over the continent.

“We have big ambitions for Spies of Warsaw and for making it the beginning of a run of adaptations of Alan Furst’s novels,” Ben Donald, Executive Producer for International Drama at BBC Worldwide, says in a press release.

“With the story taking place in Poland, France and Germany the adaptation offers some really interesting casting opportunities,” he added.

David Tennant, who rose to stardom in the UK as Doctor Who, a long-running drama on BBC television, will play Colonel Jean-Francois Mercier, an attache at the French Embassy in Warsaw who runs a network of spies.

Janet Montgomery, whose credits include the 2010 movie Black Swan, will play Anna, the love interest in the story.

Directing duties will be taken be Coky Giedroyc, the daughter of a Polish nobleman who emigrated to Britain in 1947.

Giedroyc was nominated for a British Film Academy Award for her 2007 drama The Virgin Queen, and she shot the pilot episode of BBC hit drama Sherlock. (nh/pg)

'Natura Morta' Uses Fruit To Make Electronic Music

"The size and shapes of some fruits are perfect for constructing instruments, but two musicians have discovered a way for fruits to make music all on their own. Fabio Di Salvo and Bernardo Vercelli of Quiet Ensemble released "Natura Morta," a short electronic song tapping into the natural musical capabilities of plants, CoDesign reports.

"Natura Morta" ("still life" in Italian) uses the natural acidity and electrical tension present in pears, bananas and pineapples to make music. The pieces of fruit are connected to homemade MIDI controllers that accesses the electrical energy of the fruits and converts it into an audible sound. The controllers then allow the artists to alter the sound, forming it into a techno song.

To take the show live, the Italian duo has plans to turn the same electrical energy that produces the sounds into visuals that can be projected onto a screen.

Quiet Ensemble's past work further explores this connection between technology and nature, like in 'Biografie,' in which Vercelli sketches the paths of insects. They are equal parts scientists, sound engineers and musicians.
